{"id":796,"date":"2018-10-23T18:12:41","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T17:12:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.everythingmustbebeautiful.com\/?p=796"},"modified":"2018-10-27T14:40:28","modified_gmt":"2018-10-27T13:40:28","slug":"barriers-in-everyday-life-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.everythingmustbebeautiful.com\/?p=796","title":{"rendered":"Barriers (in everyday life) 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been looking at screens as barriers this week.<\/p>\n<p>The curtains, window blind and motorbike cover are there to stop you seeing, although the latter is also there to provide some weather protection.<\/p>\n<p>The street-divider screens, which I hadn&#8217;t really thought about before, define a boundary within which customers can sit or stand outside a caf\u00e9, restaurant or pub.<\/p>\n<p>Clear screens allow interaction\/sight but prevent touch, reducing the possibility of assault or theft. Plastic in the case of the bus-driver&#8217;s screen (though some buses use glass) and, at Libertys, glass cabinets to house expensive items.<\/p>\n<p>With Halloween approaching I paid a visit to a local costume shop to photograph some masks. Masks, of course, are another form of barrier in that they prevent the face of the wearer from being seen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-792\"
