The Obstacle

On 11 October we had a presentation by designer Guglielmo Rossi on radical alternative printed ephemera of the 70s and early 80s. These were generally pamphlets aimed at raising awareness and provoking debate; and given that that is my aim with Obstructions, I have started investigating this approach through which to present my position.

I’ve recently been experimenting not just with categorising obstructions by the material they are made of, but also the types of ‘public’ space they are found in. With this in mind, for our recent one-day Make It Public! workshop I produced a quick identification kit of posters for shared spaces named The Obstacle.
