Barriers (in everyday life) 1

This is the subject of my daily iterative project: barriers in everyday life.

Barriers are defined as: a fence or other obstacle that prevents movement or access; a circumstance or obstacle that keeps people or things apart or prevents communication or progress.

It could also be argued that barriers are simply another word for obstructions, the subject of my draft paper. I think there’s much overlap between the two, but I’m particularly interested in the kind of barriers that people don’t necessarily think of as barriers, or they are just inured to them due the latter’s ubiquity.

Each day I plan to produce at least one image of a thing that can be described as a barrier in some way. The images will usually be of material objects, but not necessarily; and they will usually be photographs, but not always. These are some initial pictures from the first few days.
